MAFF Development Funding was a collaboration between MAFF, the Swedish Film Institute (feature film), and Film i Skåne (short film).
Finally, ten projects were invited to pitch their films to a jury in conjunction with MMF
Feature Films Projects
Jury: Magdalena Jangard (Swedish Film Institute) – Magada Khiralla (Film Critic) – Rashid Masharawi (Director)
Award and winner: 150,000 SEK from Swedish Film Institute to “Beauty and the Dogs”, Director: Kaouther Ben Hania, Producer: Cinetelefilms – Laika Film & Television.
Short Films:
Jury: Hanna Sohlberg (Film i Skåne) – Nisreen Faour (Director) – Sam Lahoud (Producer)
Award and winner: SEK 30,000 from Film I Skåne to “Roman Ruins”, Director: Meryam Joobeur, Producer: Peripheria – Cinenic Films – Cinetelefilms.
Doc Post-Production Platform:
Doc Post-Production Platform was an initiative that aimed to help Arab filmmakers finalize their documentary film projects. The initiative was a collaboration between MAFF and the Screening Institute Beirut.
