Malmö Arab Film Festival Announces the Juries for Its 15th Edition

The Malmö Arab Film Festival (MAFF) has announced the jury members for its 15th edition, set to take place from April 29 to May 5, 2025. This year’s jury brings together a distinguished group of filmmakers, producers, and actors from across the Arab world, reflecting the festival’s ongoing commitment to celebrating cinematic excellence and fostering artistic dialogue.
The Feature Film Competition jury includes Lebanese actress Takla Chamoun, known for her powerful performances in film and television, Moroccan producer Karim Aitouna, whose work has been instrumental in supporting innovative and thought-provoking cinema, Egyptian director Hala Khalil, a filmmaker renowned for her distinctive storytelling and deep social insights, Saudi director Hind Al Fahhad, who has made a mark with her compelling narratives and strong female perspectives, and Iraqi producer Shaker K. Tahrer, who has contributed significantly to the development of Arab cinema through his work in production and distribution.
The Short Film Competition jury consists of Emirati director Aisha Alzaabi, a rising voice in Arab cinema recognized for her fresh and bold cinematic approach, Egyptian producer Sherin Magdy, who has been actively involved in supporting emerging filmmakers and unique storytelling, and Jordanian actor Monther Rayahnah, a celebrated performer known for his versatile roles across film and television.
With such an esteemed jury panel, the festival reaffirms its role as a leading platform for Arab cinema in Europe, offering a space where creativity, talent, and diverse voices come together to shape the future of the industry.
