SYNOPSIS
The year is 1969. In the magnicent landscapes of Al Ula, Saudi Arabia, a tiny mosquito named Zozo has big dreams that set her apart from her buzzing companions. While her fellow mosquitoes are content with their usual routines, Zozo yearns for something more: she dreams of becoming a singer. And not just any singer! She wants to be as famous as Um Kulthum.

RANEEM ALMOHANDES AND DANA ALMOHANDES
Raneem and Dana are sisters; they are also both writers and directors. Raneem has her master’s (fine arts) in musical theatre; Dana is studying film-making and animation. Their musical short film Swing was chosen for the Saudi presentation in Cannes in 2022 and was since bought by Netfiix. Their musical Upwards – Saudi’s first theatrical musical – played earlier this year in Riyadh.
