BASIM SABAH AL-BASIM

Basim Sabah Al-Basim is a Swedish-Iraqi writer, director, actor, and translator with extensive experience in film, television, and theater. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Arts from the University of Baghdad and a Master’s in Digital Techniques in Filmmaking from Malmö University. His work includes directing feature films such as “Zaman Aziz,” documentaries, and short films, along with acting in various international films and theater productions. He has translated numerous plays and founded media outlets in Sweden, including a television channel and a radio station for immigrant communities. Al-Basim has received multiple awards for his acting and scriptwriting. His notable works include documentaries like “The Gate” and “The Rocks,” as well as authored and translated plays, children’s plays, and stories.
