YASIR FAIZ

Yasir Faiz is a Sudanese filmmaker , raised in Iraq until the age of 20, then moved to his home country Sudan, where he worked as a journalist for 10 years before making a career shift into filmmaking. One of his notable achievements includes being the second unit director in the short film “The Dog’s Shitter,” as well as serving as the co-scriptwriter in the acclaimed short film “Journey To Kenya” These projects earned him local and international awards, such as “The Black Elephant Award” and the “Special Jury Award” at the Sudan Independent Film Festival, respectively. He is known also as a cultural manger, where he successfully established cultural programs in Sudan, Egypt, and Ukraine. Additionally, He has been actively involved in various international programs such as Tandem. The short film “Bougainvillea” is Yasir’s directorial debut as a director, produced by In Deep Visions productions.
