ABOUT FILM
Sudan, Remember Us (2024), directed by Hind Meddeb, is a powerful documentary that captures the spirit of Sudanese youth during the 2019 revolution. The film follows four young activists—Shajane, Maha, Muzamil, and Khattab—who express their desire for freedom through poetry, art, and slogans. What begins as a hopeful celebration after the overthrow of Omar Al-Bashir turns into a narrative of despair, as violence intensifies and the country spirals into civil war.
Sudan, Remember Us premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival and has been featured in other prestigious festivals such as TIFF and DOC NYC. The documentary has received critical acclaim for its intimate portrayal of hope, resilience, and the personal cost of revolution.
